Alfred State Blue and Gold Housing Scholarship
Offered by Alfred State College (SUNY)
About this scholarship
The Alfred State Blue and Gold Housing Scholarship provides need-based institutional support to full-time residential students living on campus. The college determines each award from the student’s financial need and available funding rather than promising the outdated $30,000 amount shown for a similarly named directory listing. Students must study on campus at Alfred or Wellsville and continue living in college housing. No stand-alone scholarship application is published; students begin with the official SUNY admission application and complete the financial-aid process so Alfred State Student Records and Financial Services can evaluate need. The direct ApplySUNY route is therefore the actionable application link. To continue receiving the scholarship, a recipient must earn at least a 2.0 GPA each semester, remain continuously enrolled full time, live on campus, and continue in on-campus study. Alfred State’s current scholarship page also tells students to commit by May 1 to secure awarded institutional scholarships and cautions that some programs may not be available to spring entrants. Applicants should not confuse this housing-focused award with the Blue and Gold Grant, which is need based but does not specifically require residential status, or with the out-of-state Freeway merit scholarships, whose published amounts are tied to nonresident tuition.
