AIFS Abroad Career Readiness Scholarship

Offered by AIFS Abroad

About this scholarship

The AIFS Abroad Career Readiness Scholarship provides $1,000 to students using a full-time international internship to advance a defined career path. Awards are available for fall semester, spring semester or winter quarter, and summer, but eligibility is narrower than AIFS's general study-abroad scholarships: only full-time internship programs qualify. Study-plus-internship combinations and virtual programs are expressly excluded. The competitive application requires an essay that explains the applicant's career goals and shows how the planned internship will help achieve them. Applicants must also complete their AIFS Abroad program application by the scholarship deadline, so students should select a qualifying internship and establish a portal account before preparing the award submission. The next current deadline is October 1, 2026 for spring semester and winter-quarter participation. AIFS lists March 1 for summer and April 15 for fall semester. Because the published requirements focus on the link between the placement and the applicant's future, a strong essay should identify concrete professional skills, experiences, networks, or industry knowledge the international internship is expected to build. Scholarship applications are completed in the official AIFS student portal.
