ABC Humane Wildlife Women in STEM Academic Scholarship

Offered by ABC Humane Wildlife Control & Prevention and Landmark Pest Management

About this scholarship

The ABC Humane Wildlife Women in STEM Academic Scholarship is an annual essay competition for female-identifying college and university students pursuing science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. The program awards a $1,000 first prize and may recognize as many as nine additional entrants at the sponsor’s discretion. Applicants must be enrolled in, or continuing at, a U.S. Department of Education-recognized institution in the United States. Eligible studies include science, engineering, mathematics, and technology; the official rules specifically exclude social sciences such as economics. The essay, limited to 1,000 words, asks why the applicant is passionate about STEM and how her work could preserve biodiversity, improve planetary health, or alleviate human suffering. A complete email submission also includes proof of enrollment and one academic reference letter. Acceptable enrollment evidence can include an acceptance letter, transcript, or housing letter, while the reference may come from an educator, program leader, advisor, coach, mentor, or another qualified academic contact. Applicants do not need to be U.S. citizens. The essay email must use “Women in STEM Scholarship” as its subject line and arrive by July 1. Entries become the sponsor’s property and may be used in marketing, a condition applicants should review before submitting.
