About this scholarship

AAUW International Fellowships, awarded by the American Association of University Women, support women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents to undertake full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States, with the current programme emphasising STEM disciplines at master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral level. The fellowship helps cover eligible costs including tuition, fees, and required course materials, as well as living expenses such as housing, food, and dependent or child care, with the value depending on the level of study. To be eligible, applicants must hold an academic degree (earned in the U.S. or abroad) equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and must intend to return to their home country to pursue a professional career. AAUW places special value on women who will become leaders and role models for other women and girls, and recipients are expected to commit to advancing women and girls through their work. Applications are submitted through the AAUW Fellowships & Grants online portal and require two letters of recommendation from people academically or professionally familiar with the applicant.
