2027 Richard L. Taylor Flight Training Scholarship
Offered by National Air Transportation Foundation
About this scholarship
The Richard L. Taylor Flight Training Scholarship awards $1,500 to a student preparing to become a professional pilot in general or commercial aviation. Applicants must attend accredited colleges or universities, participate in collegiate flight programs, hold private pilot certificates, and maintain GPAs of at least 3.0. The official page also includes high-school seniors planning general-aviation careers, so incoming freshmen can apply if they already meet the private-pilot requirement and have been accepted into eligible college programs. Every applicant submits a copy of the pilot certificate and an essay discussing aviation goals, dreams, and why the scholarship should be awarded. Incoming freshmen add official high-school transcripts and college acceptance letters; students already enrolled in college provide unofficial college transcripts showing the required GPA. The direct NATF Wufoo form is currently live and collects applicant, education, flight-training, and supporting-document information. The award supports one year of full-time undergraduate study and is jointly payable to the recipient and institution. The annual deadline is the last Friday in March, which is March 26 in 2027.
