2027 FHE Health Hope for Healing Scholarship

Offered by FHE Health

About this scholarship

FHE Health’s 2027 Hope for Healing Scholarship awards $5,000 to one undergraduate and $5,000 to one master’s or doctoral student preparing for work in mental or behavioral health, nursing, or addiction medicine. The current continuously running selection period is open and closes February 7, 2027. FHE plans to announce the next recipients on March 1 and pay each award directly to the student’s school on May 1, 2027. Undergraduate applicants must be enrolled in a four-year degree program or provide proof of acceptance to an institution offering four-year degrees. Graduate applicants compete in the master’s or doctoral category. The live application requests the applicant’s recent cumulative GPA, school, declared major or focus, planned graduation date, most recent transcript, and proof of enrollment or acceptance. It also requires a 400–1,000-word PDF essay explaining why the student is pursuing mental and behavioral health, nursing, or addiction medicine and what the student hopes to contribute to the field. The current form indicates a 3.0 minimum GPA for undergraduates and 3.5 for graduate applicants. FHE welcomes veterans, minority students, and students with disabilities, but membership in one of those groups is not required. Selection centers on how persuasively the application communicates a vocational commitment to addiction and mental-health treatment.
