2027 CWRU Full-Tuition Theater Major Scholarship
Offered by Case Western Reserve University Department of Theater
About this scholarship
Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Theater awards four full-tuition, four-year scholarships each year to prospective students who intend to major in theater. Room and board are not included. The 2026–27 recruitment calendar offers in-person Theater Weekends on October 2–3 and November 13–14, 2026, plus February 19–20, 2027. Applicants who cannot attend may arrange an individual weekday campus audition or portfolio review, participate in the virtual event, or upload materials through the Arts Supplement in their CWRU application. The published virtual Arts Supplement deadline is February 1, 2027. Candidates must also submit an undergraduate admission application; the direct Apply link opens the Common Application used by CWRU. Performance applicants prepare one memorized monologue of no more than two minutes, a headshot or current photo, and a theater résumé or short biography. Design, stage-management, directing, and dramatic-writing applicants follow the discipline-specific portfolio instructions on the official page. International first-time college applicants may compete, but transfer students and anyone who has begun an undergraduate degree are ineligible. Scholarship recipients must declare theater as a major by the end of freshman year and maintain the GPA stipulated by the university to retain the award.
