2027 Baylor Hubler Endowed Scholarship

Offered by Baylor University Department of Religion

About this scholarship

The Raymond O. and Allene Breech Hubler Endowed Scholarship provides $5,000 per fall or spring semester—up to $10,000 per academic year and $40,000 across eight semesters—to outstanding Baylor ministry students. Applicants must demonstrate a firm call to full-time church-related vocational ministry, commitment to Christian principles, active involvement in a school-year church, and a declared Religion major or minor. Incoming students must qualify for a Baylor merit scholarship and have at least a 28 ACT or 1300 SAT score; current students need a minimum 3.0 Baylor cumulative GPA. The live Ministry Scholarships Application asks candidates to choose the Hubler award, upload a written testimony of personal calling, describe paid and volunteer ministry experience, and supply a pastor or church staff email for certification and a recommendation. Accepting the award also commits the student to REL 2480, Introduction to Ministry, including its five-hour-per-week ministry internship. Failure to complete the course satisfactorily may prevent graduation unless the scholarship is repaid. The application and annual renewal are due March 1. Renewal requires full-time enrollment of at least 12 hours, a 3.0 GPA, continued Religion study and church involvement, reaffirmation of the ministry call, satisfactory academic progress, and renewed pastor certification.
