2026 Tommy Tranchin Award
Offered by The Dallas Foundation
About this scholarship
The 2026 Tommy Tranchin Award helps North Texas students in grades 8–12 who have a physical, emotional, or intellectual disability develop a demonstrated talent or area of interest. Awards of up to $3,000 can support a creative project or new work, a performance, training activity, workshop, seminar, competition, or another experience that strengthens the student’s skills. Funds may also be requested for related travel or equipment. This is an educational-development award, but the Dallas Foundation explicitly says it is not intended to offset the cost of a college or university degree; applicants should propose a specific activity with a clear personal-development benefit instead. The current application opened February 1 and closes December 31, 2026. Students apply through the Dallas Foundation’s Scholarship Lifecycle Manager by creating an account, signing in, selecting Apply on the dashboard, and choosing the Tommy Tranchin Award application. If the proposal involves attending a program or institution, the selected student must confirm enrollment. Recipients must also submit a final report describing the completed activity and accounting for how award funds were used. The official page defines North Texas residency but does not publish a county-by-county list, so this record does not invent one.
