2026 Sport Clips Cosmetology and Barbering Scholarship

About this scholarship

The 2026 Sport Clips Cosmetology and Barbering Scholarship awards $5,000 to selected students training for careers in hair care. Sport Clips says it may award up to 10 eligible barber- or cosmetology-school students, with no more than two recipients from one school in a calendar year. Applicants must be enrolled in a barbering or cosmetology program, remain in good standing, maintain at least 80 percent attendance and an 80 percent grade average, demonstrate financial need, and have completed at least half of the program’s required hours. A school director or instructor must verify the student’s program status, required hours, completed hours, attendance, and grades. The live quarterly form also requires a video answering three questions: why the applicant should be considered from a financial perspective, why the applicant chose cosmetology or barbering, and what ambitions and future direction the applicant has within the industry. Incomplete entries are not accepted. Scholarship checks are made payable to the school on behalf of the recipient and applied toward tuition or education expenses owed there. Applications are valid only for the quarter submitted, so students who are not selected must reapply in a later quarter. The current third-quarter window runs through September 30, 2026; a fourth-quarter cycle follows from October 1 through December 31.

Eligibility

• Be currently enrolled in a barbering or cosmetology program
• Remain in good standing and demonstrate financial need
• Maintain at least 80 percent attendance and an 80 percent grade average
• Complete at least 50 percent of the program hours before applying
• Provide a school director or instructor who can verify program status and performance
• Upload a video answering all three official career and financial-need questions
• Submit a complete current-quarter form by September 30, 2026
