About this scholarship
The 2026 AUID Undergraduate Interior Design Scholarship awards $1,000 to $2,500 to students building careers in interior design or interior architecture. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited institution or have graduated during 2026. Previous AUID scholarship recipients must wait two years before reapplying. The process combines a direct Wufoo form with emailed PDF deliverables. Each candidate prepares a cover letter explaining design aspirations, professional goals, and intended use of the scholarship, plus a résumé listing education, work experience, honors, activities, memberships, and leadership positions. The required two-page portfolio must use AUID’s official template and contain interior-design work only; architectural projects are specifically excluded. Page one showcases the applicant’s strongest project and explains its scope, while page two presents thumbnails and narratives for other work. The form also asks for a professional or academic reference—such as an employer, practicing designer, or professor—whom AUID contacts directly with a virtual survey. Evaluation considers professional writing, résumé strength, code-compliance understanding, creativity, and presentation quality. All form fields and emailed deliverables must be complete by September 18, 2026 at 12:00 noon Eastern Time.
Eligibility
- Be a current undergraduate interior-design or interior-architecture student at an accredited institution, or a 2026 graduate
- Not have won an AUID scholarship within the prior two years
- Complete the direct AUID undergraduate Wufoo form
- Submit a cover letter explaining design goals and intended use of the award
- Provide a résumé covering education, work, honors, activities, memberships, and leadership
- Create the required two-page interior-design portfolio using AUID’s template; architectural projects are not accepted
- Provide an eligible professional or academic reference for AUID’s direct survey
- Complete every form and emailed deliverable by September 18, 2026 at noon Eastern Time
