2026–27 York County Conservation District College Scholarship

Offered by York County Conservation District

About this scholarship

The York County Conservation District will award two $1,000 college scholarships for the 2026–27 academic year to York County, Pennsylvania residents preparing for conservation-related careers. Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college, university, or associate-degree program and must major, or plan to major, in agriculture, conservation, environmental studies, natural-resource management, or a related field. A student who received a York County Conservation District scholarship during the last year may not apply in this cycle. The official application is embedded directly on the District’s current scholarship page and closes December 31, 2026. It requests the student’s school, program, enrollment status, major, and GPA; incoming or first-semester freshmen may report a high-school GPA, while students beyond their first college semester should use their college record. Applicants upload one recent unofficial transcript and one scholarship-specific recommendation from a professional such as a teacher, professor, mentor, internship supervisor, or employer—not a family member or friend. The form also asks about conservation-related employment, internships, volunteering, research, clubs, Envirothon, environmental education, watershed work, habitat restoration, and similar experience. Two required responses of 150–300 words address Pennsylvania’s land-and-water conservation challenges and the student’s academic and career goals.
