Offered by Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers
About this scholarship
The 2026-27 CASFM Undergraduate Scholarship awards $5,000 to one Colorado college student preparing for work related to stormwater, flooding, water resources, or allied environmental systems. Applicants must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors at Colorado colleges or universities, study in programs aligned with the Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers’ goals, and register for at least 10 credits in each semester. Eligible fields include civil and environmental engineering, hydrology, hydraulics, watershed or floodplain management, stormwater management and quality, emergency response, meteorology, and climatology. The current four-page application asks for academic history, three academic, professional, or personal references, a one-page resume, and a signed permission statement. Candidates also attach an essay of no more than 500 words connecting their personal and career goals to CASFM’s work and explaining their ties to Colorado. The committee shortlists three applicants and conducts approximately 20-minute interviews in mid-November. Previous CASFM scholarship recipients cannot apply again. In addition to the cash award, the recipient may attend the 2027 CASFM Conference with registration and three nights of lodging covered if the student accepts the award at the annual luncheon. The completed application and essay must be combined into a PDF and emailed to the official contact by November 2, 2026.
