2026-27 Alabama Student Grant Program
Offered by Alabama Commission on Higher Education
About this scholarship
The Alabama Student Grant Program is a state-funded, non-need-based award for Alabama residents pursuing undergraduate education at one of the independent colleges and universities listed by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education. Awards vary with available appropriations but cannot exceed $3,000 per academic year. Eligible students must have a high-school diploma or recognized equivalent, be U.S. citizens or in the process of becoming citizens, and enroll at least half time in an eligible program while maintaining satisfactory academic progress. Programs preparing students for a religious vocation, including theology or divinity degrees, are excluded. The direct 2026-27 PDF requires personal, citizenship, enrollment, and field-of-study information plus two forms of Alabama residency evidence for first-time applicants. The completed form goes to the financial-aid office of the participating institution, not to an unlisted school or directly to the state office. For Fall 2026 consideration, that office must receive the application by September 15, 2026. The same form prints later deadlines of January 15, February 15, and April 15, 2027 for the applicable winter or spring terms.
