Washington State University WUE Cougar Award
Offered by Washington State University
About this scholarship
Washington State University's WUE/Cougar Award provides $12,000 per year toward nonresident tuition for qualifying incoming students at the Pullman campus. The award can continue for three additional years, for a maximum potential value of $48,000 over eight semesters. WSU awards it automatically from the admission record, so students do not submit a separate Cougar Award form. First-year applicants qualify with a 3.0 to 3.69 high school GPA. Transfer applicants generally need a 3.0 to 3.69 transfer GPA; applicants transferring only 1 to 26 credits must also present at least a 3.0 high school GPA. Students must be classified and charged as nonresidents and begin at Pullman in the admission term for which the award was made. Fall 2027 applicants should place all required admission materials on file by March 31, 2027 to remain eligible for automatic university-waiver consideration. For renewal, recipients must enroll in at least 12 credits each semester, remain in good academic standing, retain nonresident status, and continue in an undergraduate non-professional program on the Pullman or Spokane campus. The award credits against nonresident tuition and generally cannot be used during WSU study abroad. Students whose GPA is 3.7 or higher should review the separate $15,000 Distinguished Cougar Award.
