Tennessee Promise Scholarship
Offered by Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation
About this scholarship
The Tennessee Promise Scholarship combines last-dollar financial aid with mentoring and community service for eligible Tennessee high school graduates. After federal and state grants and other gift aid are applied, Tennessee Promise covers the remaining tuition and mandatory fees at an eligible community college, College of Applied Technology, or qualifying four-year institution. The Class of 2027 application is open in the THEC Student Portal and must be completed by November 2, 2026. Applicants must also file the FAFSA by April 1, 2027, attend the required Tennessee Promise meeting, and complete at least 16 hours of community service for each year they participate. Eligibility includes Tennessee residency, U.S. citizenship or eligible noncitizen status, and graduation from a Tennessee high school, an approved bordering high school, or home school. Students earning an approved equivalency credential may qualify if they do so before age 19. Renewal requires continuous fall and spring enrollment where applicable and a 2.0 annual GPA at a community college or eligible four-year institution, or satisfactory academic progress at a Tennessee College of Applied Technology.
