Singing for Scholarships Competition

Offered by Annual National Shrimp Festival and Coastal Alabama Business Chamber

About this scholarship

Singing for Scholarships is a live vocal competition for Baldwin County, Alabama high-school students held during the Annual National Shrimp Festival. On October 10, 2026, one singer selected by each participating Baldwin County high school may represent that school on the festival stage. Public, city-system, private, and home-schooled students are eligible, and contestants do not need to be enrolled in choir or another music program. The first-place student receives $1,000, second place receives $500, and third place receives $250; the school represented by each top-three performer also receives $500. Candidates must remain enrolled in a Baldwin County high-school program through the competition date. There is no central public individual application: the official process is school-based, with each school conducting its own contest and choosing one representative. Interested singers should therefore use the official program page and promptly contact their school, teachers, guidance counselor, music director, or band director for the local selection schedule. Home-schooled students or anyone needing clarification can contact the organizers directly at shrimpfestivalsfs@gmail.com. School deadlines occur before the October festival date and may differ.
