Roy G. Post Foundation Scholarship
Offered by Roy G. Post Foundation
About this scholarship
The Roy G. Post Foundation Scholarship supports students preparing for careers in nuclear technology and radioactive-waste management. Undergraduate recipients receive $5,000 and graduate recipients receive $7,500. Winners also receive registration, hotel accommodations, and eligible travel reimbursement for the WM2027 conference in Phoenix. Applicants may attend two-year or four-year colleges, graduate programs, or accredited alternative-education programs. Most candidates must be at least in their third year of study, although that rule does not apply to two-year and eligible alternative programs. Students must remain full time through the March 7–11, 2027 conference and study a field relevant to nuclear or radwaste work, including nuclear engineering, radiation protection, environmental science or engineering, related technical disciplines, or supporting business fields such as accounting, finance, and information technology. Previous Roy G. Post scholarship recipients cannot reapply. Selection considers GPA, extracurricular and research activity, the personal statement, and references. A complete submission includes the online scholarship application, two academic or professional reference forms, and a 200- to 300-word Student Poster Competition abstract under Track 10, Topic 10.04. Scholarship recipients must attend the conference and present their poster at the March 7 opening reception. Every component is due November 1, 2026.
