Ohio State Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship

Offered by The Ohio State University

About this scholarship

The Ohio State University Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship is a full-cost-of-attendance award for high-need Ohio residents entering as first-year undergraduates. Ohio State awards 176 scholarships annually and attempts to choose two recipients from each of Ohio’s 88 counties. The award is designed to cover the university’s full attendance budget rather than tuition alone, including tuition, mandatory fees, housing, food, books, and other recognized educational costs. Its dollar value changes with the recipient’s campus charges, aid package, and yearly cost of attendance, so the directory’s fixed total is not stored as if it were guaranteed cash. Selection combines financial need and academic merit. Applicants must be Ohio residents, qualify for the Federal Pell Grant, and demonstrate significant need through the financial-aid process. The scholarship is considered through Ohio State’s first-year admission process; there is no separate public Land Grant application. Students should submit a complete and competitive admission application, official test scores when required for the applicable cycle, and every supporting item by Ohio State’s November 1 priority deadline. They must also complete the FAFSA and any requested verification promptly so the university can establish Pell eligibility. The current merit page still labels its detailed cycle for fall 2026, so this record preserves the annual priority date without inventing a fall 2027 deadline year. Applicants should confirm the entry term before submission.
