Good Tidings Community Service Scholarship

Offered by Good Tidings Foundation

About this scholarship

The Good Tidings Community Service Scholarship awards $10,000 to each of ten underserved high school seniors whose records show sustained service to other people. Awards are distributed over four years and may support college, vocational education, or another qualifying continuing-education path. The 2026 application is hosted on Good Tidings Foundation's linked Kaleidoscope program page and closes November 4, 2026 at noon Pacific time. Applicants must graduate from high school in 2027 and live in one of the program's eligible Northern or Central California counties. Selection emphasizes the depth and authenticity of community service together with demonstrated financial need; the foundation is looking for students who have made meaningful sacrifices to help others, not simply accumulated isolated volunteer hours. A recommendation is required, and Good Tidings states that it will verify the recommendation by phone. Recipients must also be available for one two-to-four-hour volunteer shift at the foundation's Winter Wonderland event in Burlingame between December 5 and December 20. Applicants should prepare a complete service history, financial context, thoughtful responses, and an available recommender before submitting.
