Good Samaritan Foundation Nursing Scholarship

Offered by Good Samaritan Foundation of Texas

About this scholarship

The Good Samaritan Foundation Nursing Scholarship helps Texas residents complete clinical nursing education and enter or advance in the state’s healthcare workforce. Eligible programs include Licensed Vocational Nurse certificates, nursing diplomas, Associate and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees, and graduate nursing study at the MSN, PhD, DSN, or DNP level. The nursing program may be classroom-based or online, but it must be approved by the Texas Board of Nursing. Applicants must be Texas residents, have an application pending with or be accepted into an eligible nursing program, and be U.S. citizens or hold a current valid work permit. They must also be working in Texas healthcare or plan to work in the Texas healthcare system after graduation. Scholarships are approved semester by semester, and former recipients seeking continued or higher-level study must submit a new application for each cycle. The Foundation now uses a web-based AwardSpring application rather than paper forms. It accepts applications three times annually: January 1–February 15 for spring, May 15–June 30 for summer, and August 1–September 15 for fall. Because the current fall window is open, qualified nursing students should submit the complete AwardSpring application by September 15, 2026 and follow the dashboard instructions for supporting records.
