Florida Medallion Scholarship

Offered by Florida Department of Education, Office of Student Financial Assistance

About this scholarship

The Florida Medallion Scholarship is a Bright Futures merit award for Florida graduates attending eligible colleges, universities, and other approved post-secondary institutions in the state. It normally covers 75 percent of tuition and specified fees at a Florida public institution, with a comparable amount at an eligible private institution. Medallion Scholars enrolled in an associate-degree program at a Florida College System college may receive 100 percent of tuition and specified fees. Eligible students can also receive summer funding. The award does not guarantee housing, meals, books, travel, or all personal costs, so it is partial funding. Initial applicants generally need Florida residency and U.S.-citizen or eligible-noncitizen status, a standard Florida diploma or qualifying equivalent, the 16 required college-preparatory credits, at least a 3.00 weighted Bright Futures GPA, 75 approved volunteer-service hours, paid-work hours, or a permitted combination, and the current ACT, CLT, or SAT threshold by August 31 of the graduation year. Students must file the Florida Financial Aid Application by August 31, 2026, attend an eligible Florida institution, and satisfy enrollment and conduct rules. Filing the FFAA on time is required even when final academic or test evaluation is still pending.
