Elevate-A-Life Scholarship

Offered by Melita Group

About this scholarship

The Melita Group Elevate-A-Life Scholarship combines education and childcare funding with career preparation for a low-income single parent pursuing an undergraduate path into human resources. The award provides $20,000 per year for up to four years or until degree completion, whichever comes first. The first two years must be completed at a community college followed by transfer to a four-year college. For each semester or quarter, funding first pays tuition and books; the remaining portion may cover eligible childcare such as nursery school and before- or after-school care. The program also includes a flexible paid internship with Melita, an assigned mentor, and consideration for a permanent role after graduation. Applicants must be the legal guardian of at least one dependent child younger than 14, demonstrate financial need, and choose a major related to human resources, such as human resources management or organizational development. Graduate study is not eligible, although applicants who already completed some undergraduate coursework may receive support for the remaining degree requirements. The sponsor’s current page does not state a citizenship restriction; it does explain that household income must be verifiable through U.S. federal tax returns or other documented sources. Applicants use the direct live form and submit an essay of at least 700 words explaining their financial need, HR career choice, and plans. Finalists interview, and proof of income is required before an award. No official closing date is currently posted.
