Christian James Mazzariello Memorial Scholarship
Offered by Christian James Mazzariello Memorial Scholarship Fund
About this scholarship
The Christian James Mazzariello Memorial Scholarship helps a financially needy U.S. high school senior pursue computer science, engineering, or a closely related technology degree at an accredited four-year college. The primary recipient receives $25,000 for the first year and may renew the award for as many as three additional years, making the potential four-year value $100,000. Renewal is not automatic: financial need must not change significantly, the student must remain matriculated, and the student must maintain at least a C+ or equivalent GPA. Trustees may also issue additional one-time $5,000 scholarships. Payments go directly to the college or university and may be used for qualified tuition and fee expenses, not unrestricted personal spending. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, be current high school seniors, demonstrate financial need, and be unrelated to a trustee or trustee family member. The Fund says preference is given to someone in the LGBTQ community, but LGBTQ identity is not stated as a mandatory condition. The embedded official application asks for educational and professional goals, activities and honors, a personal essay about the applicant’s passion and obstacles, two references, an official transcript, a filed FAFSA, and proof of college acceptance before funds are released. The sponsor lists March 1 without a year, so applicants should confirm the form is accepting their graduation cycle.
