Bailey-Shipp Safety Scholarship

Offered by International Safety Equipment Association Foundation

About this scholarship

The Bailey-Shipp Safety Scholarship awards $8,000 to a college student preparing for a career that protects workers and advances the occupational safety and health industry. The International Safety Equipment Association Foundation created the scholarship to honor two leaders in safety, and an independent panel unaffiliated with ISEA staff or member companies selects the recipient. Applicants must be enrolled full time at an accredited college or university in the United States. Eligible degree paths include occupational safety and health, environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, safety engineering, ergonomics and human factors, and product design or engineering with a safety focus. Programs in supply chain, manufacturing systems, construction, or industrial management can also qualify when the student’s coursework and career plans emphasize personal protective equipment or safety. Candidates must show strong academic performance through a current transcript and demonstrate leadership through extracurricular, volunteer, or professional involvement in safety, health, or STEM. The selection panel also looks for a commitment to improving workplace safety through innovation, advocacy, or design. The direct application requires proof of enrollment, a grade transcript, a list of extracurricular activities, and two recommendation letters. The deadline is October 1, 2026, and the foundation expects to notify the selected recipient by November 13.
