ASSP Foundation Family Scholarship
Offered by American Society of Safety Professionals Foundation
About this scholarship
The ASSP Foundation Family Scholarship supports spouses and children of people who died in workplace incidents. Established in 2013, the program is intended to reduce the educational and financial impact of a work-related family tragedy while helping survivors continue their studies. Award amounts and the number of recipients vary because the Foundation reviews each situation individually and may contact an applicant for additional facts or documentation. Students may attend full time or part time at a university, community college, trade school, or vocational school in the United States. Citizenship is not required. A high-school student may apply after receiving proof of university or postsecondary acceptance. The application requires background and documentation that allow the Foundation to verify the workplace incident, plus current university transcripts or high-school transcripts. Applicants also write a 300–500 word essay describing how the incident affected them and how the Family Scholarship would benefit their education and future. The official portal describes the family program as open year-round and currently lists December 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central as its application-period deadline. A student can create a separate portal account or log in through the direct application link.
