Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund
Offered by Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund
About this scholarship
The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund provides flexible financial support and wraparound services to low-income single parents preparing for family-supporting careers. The fall 2026 application is open through September 1, and official program news lists awards from $400 to $1,600. Funds can help with educational and practical expenses such as child care, transportation, car repairs, rent, and other needs that can otherwise interrupt a parent's studies. Applicants may pursue an associate or bachelor's degree, professional license, certificate, or skilled-trade program at a university, community college, trade school, or vocational school. They must take at least three credit hours, have a high school diploma or GED, hold at least a 2.0 GPA, and not already have a bachelor's degree. Household income cannot exceed 250% of the federal poverty guidelines. The program serves most Arkansas counties plus Bowie County, Texas, while residents of several excluded Arkansas counties are directed to separate local single-parent funds. Applicants must also meet the organization's three-part single-parent definition, including marital status and at least 50% physical custody of a qualifying dependent child, and upload the required records through Submittable.
