American Australian Association Graduate Education Scholarship
Offered by American Australian Association
About this scholarship
The American Australian Association Graduate Education Scholarship supports academic exchange between the United States and Australia with awards of up to USD $40,000. Funds may pay tuition, living expenses, travel, and other approved educational or research costs during one year. The scholarship serves full-time master’s, Ph.D., and postdoctoral candidates working in fields such as artificial intelligence and cyber, biology and health, medicine, critical minerals, defence technology, engineering, mathematics, physics, and space. The applicant must study in the other country: an American citizen or permanent resident goes to Australia, while an Australian citizen or permanent resident goes to the United States. Dual U.S.–Australian citizens or permanent residents are excluded. Candidates need a formal offer from an accredited host institution, program, course, or research supervisor when applying, and their proposed study or project must have at least one full-time year remaining when the round closes. Selection favors high-calibre applicants whose work can produce durable bilateral benefits in research, education, policy, or practice, along with academic strength and leadership potential. The current U.S.-to-Australia portal closes September 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern. The reverse-direction cycle runs from January 1 through March 31 annually, with its own live portal during that window.
