AHRI Rees Scholarship Foundation HVACR and Water Heating Technician Program

Offered by AHRI Rees Scholarship Foundation

About this scholarship

The AHRI Rees Scholarship Foundation HVACR and Water Heating Technician Program awards up to $2,000 to students preparing for careers in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, or water-heating service. Applicants must be enrolled in an HVACR training program at an institutionally accredited, U.S.-based school. The foundation accepts applications throughout the year and reviews them for Fall and Spring funding; the next live portal deadline is September 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Award money is sent to the school’s accounting department and credited to the student’s account. It may support no more than two semesters, and unused money must be returned to the foundation. Recipients also receive a free NATE Ready-to-Work test. The online application combines background questions with a 500-word essay, two recommendation letters, and official transcripts from high school, college, or university. A school may submit the transcript electronically; otherwise, it must mail an official sealed copy to the foundation. The review committee screens applicants against the program requirements and considers each candidate’s career objectives and demonstrated commitment to entering the HVACR industry. The official materials do not state a citizenship requirement, but they do limit current scholarships to students attending institutions in the United States.
