5Rivers Foundation College Scholarship Program

Offered by 5Rivers Foundation

About this scholarship

The 5Rivers Foundation College Scholarship Program awards $2,000 to $5,000 to Sikh students attending or planning to attend an undergraduate or graduate college or university in the United States. The Foundation’s official eligibility quiz is live and is the direct starting point for the application process; the sponsor does not publish a fixed closing date on its public pages, so applicants should begin through that portal rather than rely on a directory deadline. Eligible students must be believers of the Sikh religion, hold U.S. citizenship or another legal status that permits living in or attending school in the United States, and attend or plan to attend a U.S. institution either full time or part time. A minimum 2.5 GPA and total annual family income of no more than $75,000 are required. The Foundation evaluates financial need, academic achievement, motivation to enroll and graduate, character and potential, community commitment, and applications for or receipt of other scholarships. Scholarship money is paid directly to the educational institution, which must return it if the recipient does not enroll or drops out. Awards are formally nonrenewable, but a student may apply again in consecutive years; prior receipt is one favorable factor when the new application is reviewed.
